Huatai’s beautiful B11 is getting ready for its Beijing debut and what is likely one of the showcars was seen outside a Huatai facility with a sticker on the side which tell us what those pretty lines do hide:
A 1.8 Turbocharged engine but a what kind? Some speak of 1.5 and 2.0 turbocharged diesel engines for the B11 so this might be a 1.8 turbodiesel. Could be fine for export but highly unlikely for China since diesels for passenger vehicles are forbidden in most parts of the country, including Beijing where I live. Likely then, this is a 1.8 turbocharged patrol engine, you can’t have enough of those, almost every manufacturer in the segment has one in the line up.
